The "Dardo" Armoured Combat Vehicle (ACV) is a tank used by the heavy infantry units of the Italian Army.
It is manufactured in Italy by the Iveco-OTO Melara Group for the tactical move of a riflemen squad.
It was introduced into service in 2002; it has got excellent mobility on all types of land with its tracked hull.
Thanks to its armament, the on-board instrumentation and the high protection of its armour, it has got firepower, adaptability to the modern operational scenarios and a strong interoperability with tank units.
It has been used in the "Ancient Babylon" Mission in Iraq, in the ISAF Mission in Afghanistan and in the LEONTE Operation in Lebanon.
